WELCOME TO FRONT PORCH PEDIATRICS
I’m Dr. Jenna Penland
A board-certified pediatrician and mom of four who believes the best medicine starts with warmth, trust, and truly knowing your family.
I studied at Vanderbilt University before completing my medical training at UT Southwestern in Dallas. After working as a pediatric hospitalist at Dartmouth for two years, I spent seven years in private practice in Houston. And through all of it, what I loved most was building lasting relationships with families.
I built Front Porch Pediatrics because I wanted to practice medicine in a way that feels unrushed and personal, with the space to listen carefully and be fully present during each visit. The front porch represents how I approach care: a place where conversations feel natural, questions are welcome, and children feel comfortable being themselves.
Outside the office, I'm usually with my four kids and husband. We love being outdoors together, and I'm passionate about healthy living. That same care and intentionality I bring to my own family is what I want to bring to yours.

Why Front Porch Pediatrics
The name Front Porch Pediatrics reflects a philosophy of care that is personal, welcoming, and rooted in community.
The front porch has always been a symbol of connection, a place where families gather, neighbors stop by, and conversations happen naturally. It’s where children play, stories are shared, and people feel seen and cared for.
In that same spirit, Front Porch Pediatrics strives to create a warm, approachable environment for families, where questions are encouraged, trust is built, and every child is known by name, not just by chart.
Its modern medicine blended with old-fashioned compassion.
FRONT PORCH PEDIATRICS
What it’s like to be a Front Porch Family
When you join Front Porch Pediatrics, your child gets a pediatrician who takes the time to learn not just their medical history, but who they are. Their personality, their milestones, and what matters most to your family. Appointments are unhurried, so there's always room to ask questions, talk through concerns, and make sure you leave feeling confident and never rushed. Between visits, I'm just a text or call away when something comes up. No phone trees, no waiting days for a callback. Just a doctor who knows your child and is here when you need her.
